6 DAY MOROCCO KASBAH TOUR FROM FES

DAY 1: TRAVEL FROM FES - IFRAN - AZROU - MIDELT

Today is time to relax after the hustle and bustle of Fes, we enjoy a stunning drive rewarded by top Moroccan views, cross the Mid-Atlas Mountains region. This is a beautiful alpine area. Surrounded by huge pine trees and a tranquile mountain setting. Stop in Azrou to look out for Barbary apes and nomadic shepherds on the scenic, journey between the Middle and High Atlas mountain ranges. Independent lunch in Midelt, where we stay overnight.

DAY 2: MIDELT - ERFOUD - RISSANI - MERZOUGA AND CAMEL RIDE TO SAHARA DESERT CAMP

Today we travel from Midelt over Ziz River through a series of fortified villages made by clay, then to Erfoud and Rissani, head out to towards the the Erg Chebbi dunes located near the remote frontier town of Merzouga.

The dunes are renowned for their incredible height and size. In parts the vast sand pile reaches skyward to heights of 150 metres! Transferring to our camels we trek into the Sahara for a night at our Berber Camp. Tonight enjoy a local meal, music and an amazing night out under the Saharan stars. Overnight - Erg Chebbi sand dunes at Merzouga desert camp ..

DAY 3: MERZOUGA EXCURSION

Tour around most spectacular desert sand dunes in Morocco, located in the beautiful Merzouga desert. Listen Gnaoua spiritual music live show. Visit the nomads thier tent and share some real moments with them, we will head on to see some natural fossilized animals on rocks, we will visit Rissani, the holy city of Rissani, a site where the ancestors of the Alaouite Dynasty are buried in the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Sherif, with it’s authentic Souk (market) and have a Berber pizza for lunch, then back to the Kasbah to get some time to relax and shower…you can go and visit a Berber family in their house… and if you missed the sunset of the previous day, you still have the chance to catch it. Overnight in comfortable Sahara desert lodging in Merzouga desert.

DAY 4: MERZOUGA - ZIZ VALLEY - TINEJDAD - TODGHA GORGES - DADES VALLEY:

Leaving the desert, we move on to Todgha Gorges. This 1000ft gorge is hemmed in on all sides by vertical limestone cliffs and is also called Morocco’s Grand Canyon. There’s time to explore the gorge, from its plunging depths to dizzying heights. The charm of Todra lies in its changing colours as the sun slowly moves from east to west. Then, journey to Dades Valley, a green and fertile valley by the Dades River that flows through it giving life to a huge variety of colorful fruit and nut trees and extraordinary red rock formations. Overnight - Dades Valley at Xaluca Dades .

DAY 5: DADES VALLEY - ROSES VALLEYS - OUARZAZATE :

After breakfast you will travel to the valley of roses, by the route of 1000 Kasbah, where you will see many kasbahs, buildings that are typical for the south of Morocco. You will make a stop at the main town in the valley, El-Kalaa M'gouna famous for the blossoming of this flower from which the locals make many products for body care. From here you will head to Skoura to visit the kasbah of this area and take a break for lunch. We will continue to Ouarzazate after lunch and visit the largest and most famous film studios in all Africa, the Atlas Studios, where films such as Gladiator and kingdom of heaven were filmed. You will then visit the kasbah of Ouarzazate Taourirt and then proceed to the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. Here you can visit this famous Kasbah, a UNESCO world heritage site and the scene of the filming for films such as Gladiator, Babel, Lawrence of Arabia, The Legionary, The tea in the desert and many others. After dinner you will overnight stay at the riad.

DAY 6: OUARZAZATE TO AIT BENHADDOU AND MARRAKECH

After breakfast we will depart to Ait Benhaddou and visit the World Heritage Site. We will continue with a visit to the traditional High Atlas Berber village of Telouet and the Kasbah el Glaoui. We will have lunch in a local restaurant in Telouet before descending the Tizi n'Tichka to Marrakech.

NOTE : This is a private Morocco trip, thus there will be no other people in your travel. You can request that the private driver stop wherever you choose for photographs or a break along your guided tour to desert.
